Klutz Anyone?

Is is defined with my name beside it? According to my mother it would. My growing up years I heard it daily and usually multiple times. Sure, I was the kid that always spilled things, broke a glass or dish, cut a hand, knocked my front teeth out on a swing set, stepped on a nail and would lift my foot off it and put it right back down on another, fell to the ground from tree limbs, or went head first over the handlebars of my bike...but does that classify me a klutz? How many catastrophes does it take to become a full fledged klutz? Do they have a national organization I could join? Would membership be decided by number or a certain severity. I've probably got that covered too with all of what Moma called my klutz related ER and hospital trips. Sliced my chin open on the bath tub...got stitches, knocked my toenails off on doors, I already mentioned my teeth which resulted in an emergency weekend visit to a dentist, bike wreck resulting in a concussion and an hour or so of blindness, of course there were countless burns including the one just this week when I picked up a hot pan without a mitt. Diving landed me in the hospital a few days with a not too serious neck injury. Roller skating cost me a weeks work and some serious spinal pain. So...I do not think I'll be getting a skateboard...not even motorized. Falling over a big tonka truck gave me two broken toes. These are just a few of my little incidences...but here is one I've always kept at the top of my list...Mother called me one day soon after the birth of my first child. I answered the phone and was casually talking to her when she suddenly asked, "Where's the baby?" I replied, "He's right here." Mother blares out, "Oh my gosh, are you standing?" Puzzled I told her yes. Without hesitation she ordered me, "Sit down before you drop that baby right on to the floor!" So is one born a klutz or through personal mishaps become one?

Another One of Those Days

07.06.06 (2:44 am)   [edit]
One car is broken down and in the shop...the debate is do we have it fixed or let it rest in peace. Another is broken down in the yard of a relative...sitting beside another broken down auto of his. Maybe it is the one to fix and start using. I've been driving yet another relatives extra vehicle and guess what...it has stopped running. Our family has to share most of its rides. When is it a good time to switch back to the horse and buggy days? Or would the horse just break a leg and have to be shot? Come to think of it...I couldn't afford a saddle and a wagon would be out of the question. Thank the Lord our rusted out, faded and peeled paint pick up is still up. We will be on foot if it bites the dust too. I'm ready to make lemonade from my lemons...but there was a hole in the bag and the lemons all escaped.
